Our Proprietary Coatings are superior to PTFE coatings in many ways for guidewire, catheter, and other applications:

  • Much better adhesion due to covalent bonds with substrate (no flaking)

  • Can be applied to OD and/or ID of catheters

  • Harder, more abrasion resistant

  • Lubricity is similar to or better than PTFE medical coatings

  • Ultra low profile; as low as 2-3 micron thickness

  • Adheres to both metal and plastic.  (PTFE not an option for many plastics based on the high cure temps.)

  • Applied to very long pieces, 69” or more.

  • Can be applied to ID’s smaller than 0.007"

  • Withstand 700°F (PTFE will not)

  • Can withstand multiple cycles of all major sterilization methods

  • After coating is applied, catheter can be athermally laser-machined without damaging the coating
